The Future Waldwic Gallery

Renovations Underway

The second floor of the Museum is undergoing a multi-year transformation. We are working behind the scenes to create spaces that serve our community better. The most recent phase of the second-floor transformation involved installing a loading door on the exterior wall of the Steiger Wing. This major infrastructure improvement strengthens our ability to host a wide array of exciting temporary exhibitions in the future Waldwic Gallery.

The future Waldwic Gallery renovations are underway. Pending any changes due to shifting construction timelines, the first temporary exhibition to open in this new space open in the fourth quarter of 2024 or first quarter of 2025. The formerly known “Red Gallery” is currently being reimagined as a future long-term exhibition that continues the story from People of the Waters

Temporary, intermittent closures of This Is Winnebagoland and the Menominee Clans Story are to ensure visitor safety and full accessibility during construction. These exhibitions are otherwise unaffected by construction and will resume welcoming visitors as soon as possible.

We know that closures are disruptive and we appreciate your patience during this ongoing second-floor transformation process. Don’t forget to follow @oshkoshpublicmuseum on social media for the most current updates and subscribe to monthly newsletter emails for closure-related updates.
Thank you again for your steadfast support of OPM. We can’t wait to share these new spaces with you!
