Heather Bruegl, M.A. (Oneida/Stockbridge-Munsee), an independent Indigenous Consultant, will give a presentation about the Native American Graves Preservation and Repatriation Act and her work with museums to comply with federal regulations and create relationships with Indigenous Nations.
Heather consults for a variety of museums and universities and is a frequent lecturer at conferences and continuing education programs, on topics ranging from intergenerational racism and trauma to the fight for clean water in the Native community.
This program will focus on the newest NAGPRA regulations, and her work assisting museums, including OPM, to comply with them.
This presentation is free with regular Museum admission (and always free for Museum members). OPM will have extended open hours for this program.
