6 Reasons to Visit Tiffany’s Gardens in Glass at the Oshkosh Public Museum

Calling all art lovers! If you’re looking for the perfect blend of art, nature, and history, the Tiffany’s Gardens in Glass exhibit at the Oshkosh Public Museum has to be at the top of your to-do list this year.

From July 19, 2025, to January 3, 2026, this spectacular exhibit celebrates Louis C. Tiffany’s lifelong love for the natural world and his genius in stained glass.

Tiffany revolutionized glassmaking and interior design. This exhibit not only highlights his art but also his innovative processes, studio practices, and dedication to craftsmanship. It’s a celebration of a legacy that shaped American design at the turn of the 20th century.

Thanks to a collaboration with The Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass—home to one of the world's most important Tiffany collections—this exhibit brings nationally significant art to your backyard. It's a rare chance to view these exquisite pieces without traveling to major metropolitan museums.

Here are just a few of the reasons you won’t want to miss it:

1. Explore Breathtaking Glass Masterpieces

Marvel at ten of Tiffany Studios’ most iconic botanical lamps and landscape windows. These stunning works capture delicate petals, dewy leaves, and golden sunlight in vibrant stained glass. Each piece is a luminous tribute to Tiffany’s unparalleled craftsmanship and artistic reverence for nature.

2. See Unique Studio Photographs

Get a rare behind-the-scenes look at how nature inspired the Tiffany glass designs. The exhibit includes nine original nature-study photographs from Tiffany Studios’ reference collection. You’ll see how a photo of a flower was transformed into a radiant stained glass lamp, giving you a powerful glimpse into the artistry behind the glass.

3. Step Inside the Historic Sawyer Home

Your admission to the Oshkosh Public Museum includes access to Historic Sawyer home, which features original Tiffany Studios interior commissions. Stroll through beautifully preserved sun-drenched rooms where Tiffany’s artistry complements rich period architecture and furniture, offering a living context for the exhibit’s work.

4. Explore the Book Nook

The Museum was inspired by the opening of Tiffany's Garden in Glass, an exhibition organized by the Neudstadt Collection to introduce a new space that enhances visitor experiences. The Book Nook is a cozy space located outside the Waldwic Gallery, available for people to connect with Art, Culture, and History.

During the Tiffany's Gardens in Glass exhibition, the nook will be furnished with books and materials related to the Tiffany Studios legacy. We encourage patrons to linger, learn, experience, and explore more about Louis C. Tiffany's celebrated lamps, windows, interiors, and inspiration. The reference materials will include books for sale in the Museum Store, as well as offerings from the Oshkosh Public Library and shared curatorial reference books.

Visitors can help themselves to a complimentary Tiffany Inspiration bookmark. The bookmarks represent many of the flowers that inspired the designers and artists from the Tiffany Studios.

The Book Nook is a place for the public to immerse themselves in the Tiffany experience.

5. Take Home a Piece of the Magic

The Museum’s gift shop will offer curated Tiffany-themed merchandise throughout the exhibition, including special pieces available on the opening day of Saturday, July 19. It’s the perfect way to remember your visit—or give someone a piece of art history.

Among the items for sale are glass cutting and serving boards that feature artwork from the Neustadt collection, including “Peony,” “Wisteria,” “Oriental Poppy,” and “Lemon Tree and Grape Vine with Trellis.”

In addition to Tiffany-inspired items, the gift shop will carry specially selected merchandise that’s perfect for collectors, artists, or anyone looking for a thoughtful, art-inspired gift. Perfect for the holiday season! Items include glass ornaments, sun catchers, tote bags, and “The Lamps of Tiffany” by Dr. Egon Neustadt, which features almost 300 illustrations.
